Wales was where it all began for me; my first hill walks, mountain climbs and my first full on photographic trip back in 2001. I may have lived in Scotland for eight years but the cumulative time spent in the stunning Snowdonia area comes to over two years since we holidayed there at least once every year from a very early age. My first ascent of Snowdon came when I was just 4 years old, admittedly on the easiest path but on foot never-the-less. Since those early days I have continued to walk, camp and photograph the hills building up a really in depth knowledge of the area.

Being based (from July) just half an hour from the Welsh border,  Snowdonia will be my closest national park and I have been relishing the prospect of getting back on a more regular basis and visiting some of my favourite haunts with my Large Format camera ( and the LF approach to seeing and photographing that I have developed during my time in Scotland).

This first weekend landscape workshop is based in Beddgelert which provides a perfect centre from which to explore the fabulous mountain scenery around Snowdon and also around to The Moelwyn and Nantlle hills. With picturesque valleys and lakes, wooded gorges and quick and easy access out onto the coast we will have plenty of wonderful material close at hand.

Starting at 11am on Friday the 1st of February and finishing at 4pm on the 3rd we will have three days exploring this fantastic area. The price (£275) includes all guidance, tuition and transport for the duration of the workshop. Delegates will take care of their own accommodation needs and there are Hotels, B&Bs, Bunkhouses/Hostels and Camp Sites in the area ( we can help and advise on this) to suit your budget.

Maximum of 6 participants.
